# Payments by Booking.com: collection and automatic payout of your payments
## An optional Booking.com service that collects payment from the guest on your behalf, set up on the Extranet
⚠️ Not available everywhere. Booking.com only offers this service in the markets it covers, and only for certain property types. If Payments by Booking.com does not appear in the Finance menu of your Extranet, it is not yet available for your property.
Payments by Booking.com is a Booking.com service that collects the guest’s payment on your behalf, then pays you the amount by bank transfer or virtual credit card, depending on your country and property type. Registration takes place in the Booking.com Extranet: there is no Biloki setting for this service, and your booking synchronisation continues exactly as before.
**What the service does and what it costs**
1. Guests pay as they prefer. They pay in their own currency, with local or international payment methods. Booking.com states that up to 25% of bookings made through the service use a payment method other than a credit card, which makes it possible to reach guests in markets where cards are not widely used.
2. Fewer cancellations and no-shows. A guest who pays in advance has a firmer travel intention. Booking.com reports up to 40% fewer cancellations and up to 80% fewer no-shows among partners who use the service.
3. Payment is guaranteed on prepaid bookings. For bookings without prepayment, Booking.com automatically verifies the guest’s card and handles invalid cards through its own cancellation process.
4. Booking.com charges you transaction fees on the payouts it transfers to you. The service is not free: factor these fees into your pricing before you decide.
5. Compliance and chargebacks are handled by Booking.com. Booking.com manages the rules of online payment, such as data protection and strong customer authentication, as well as protection against chargebacks and fraud.
**Before you start**
You need all of the following to register:
1. Admin or Finance access rights on your Booking.com account. Without them, the financial settings do not appear. The main administrator of your account can grant them to you.
2. A property located in a covered country. Your property must be in a market where Booking.com fully provides the service.
3. Accurate bank and billing details saved on your Booking.com account, so that payouts reach you.
4. Set it up in the Extranet, not in Biloki. As you manage your properties through Biloki, Booking.com requires this payment solution to be configured directly in the Booking.com Extranet.
**Steps**
1. Log in to your Booking.com Extranet.
2. From the main menu, go to Finance.
3. Click on Payments by Booking.com.
4. Click on Sign up now and select the payout method you want.
5. Click on Save.
**Checking that it worked**
Go back to Finance \> Payments by Booking.com. Your account appears as registered, with the payout method you chose. From then on, Booking.com collects guests’ payments and pays you the amounts; your bookings continue to arrive in Biloki as before.
**Common problems**
**Payments by Booking.com is not in your Finance menu**
There are two possible causes. Either your Booking.com account does not have Admin or Finance access rights, in which case the main administrator of the account can grant them to you. Or the service is not offered for your market and property type, and there is nothing to activate for now.
**You want to set it up from Biloki**
There is no Biloki setting for this service. Payments handled by Booking.com are settled between Booking.com and you; Biloki’s only role here is to continue importing bookings.
